See You at the Pole 2008 Promo Video

For more info, visit their website.

See YOU at the Pole

National See You at the Pole day will be held Wednesday, September 24th, 2008. High School student from across the nation will gather in front of their school (or around their flag poles) to pray together before the start of the school day.

The following is taken from the See You at the Pole (SYATP) website and it describes what this event is all about:

See You at the Pole™ is a great place to connect with God, connect with other believers, and connect with your campus in the name of Christ. SYATP connects believers together at the beginning of the school year, so you can stand strong together throughout the year. See You at the Pole™
is all about prayer. It's about you coming together and laying aside all the labels and groups for one day, to simply connect with God in prayer and connect with fellow Christians in unity around the flag pole—whether jocks, preps, geeks, Methodists, Baptists, Catholics, sophomores, or seniors. So are you ready to connect? Are you ready to say, Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening?
Join your generation
Wednesday, September 24, at 7 a.m.,
GATHER at your school flagpole.
PRAY for your school, friends, families, and world.
CONNECT.
Listen as He speaks to you.

Youth Ministry Parent Meeting

Don't Forget!

Wednesday, September 17th

7:45-8:45 pm

Parents of youth grades 6-12 are invited to a round table discussion of the future of our youth ministry program at St. Francis of Assisi.

I want to hear from you! Please come with ideas, hopes, dreams and a willingness to participate and work together. I believe it is the desire of this parish to have the youth embrace a relationship with Christ and practice it within the framework of our Catholic faith. How can God use you towards that goal? (This would be a great time to meet and connect with Carol if you haven’t had the chance to do so!)

or Email: youthminister@stfrancis-church.org

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Want to go to the Matt Maher Concert?

Let me know if you're interested by

Tuesday, September 9th.

For more info about the concert check out other posts.

· We will leave from St. Francis of Assisi Church at about 5 p.m. (Please eat dinner before you come. We will stop for food only after the concert.)
· Cost will be $25 (This includes tickets and gas—but bring a little extra money if you’d like to grab a late night snack after the concert.)
· We need some parent volunteers to drive. If interested, please contact me.
· I need to know who would like to go by Tuesday, September 9th. Email or call me (288-7313). Let me know if you can help with carpooling.
· Our return time depends on the concert end time. My estimate would be the concert would end about 10:30 p.m. We would stop to get some food along the way and return to St. Francis of Assisi at about 12:30-1 am. (Again, this is dependent on travel time and concert time.)
