Catholic Bishops Review: Exceptional coming-of-age heartwarmer about an introverted boy (Haley Joel Osment) who grows up during a summer spent on the Texas farm of his two eccentric uncles (Robert Duvall and Michael Caine) after being abandoned by his mother. Directed by Tim McCanlies, the film hits all the right emotional notes, resulting in an enchanting yarn about family and the transmission of values as generations change hands. Some thematic elements, sporadic mildly crude language and some action violence. A-II -- adults and adolescents. (PG) 2003
