Lock-In 2011 Update!

Over 130 middle school youth from in and around Rochester joined us for Flip-Flopped Middle School Lock-In 2011!

The ‘flip-flopped’ theme this year was based on the Beatitudes. In the Beatitudes, Jesus challenges to think differently about values of this world—we have to ‘flip’ our understanding.

We heard from Bryan Rodriguez about how we can apply the Beatitudes in our daily lives and also had a chance for some praise and worship.

Youth had a chance to participate in a four way volleyball challenge and work in teams to answer trivia questions.
Later, there was pizza and service projects!  Youth had the opportunity to write to service men and women and thank them for their sacrifices.  There was also a chance to take a ride on the PET (Personal Energy Transportation).  The PET is a vehicle that gives mobility to people who are unable to use their legs.

After service projects we moved back to the youth center for the HUGE inflatable obstacle course and live music from deejay Youth Forum.

A good time was had by all!  Thank you to all parents, volunteers, chaperones and high school volunteers who helpd make this happen.

See you at the middle school Lock-In 2012!
