Cardboard Box City 2010

Are YOU up to it?

Spend one night in the box.
Raise money and awareness to
combat homelessness in Rochester.
October 22-23

Every night 15 to 37 homeless people in Rochester seek shelter and a meal.  Cardboard Box City is an event to raise money and awareness for the homeless community in Rochester.  Youth in grades 7 and up are invited to join us as we spend one night in Cardboard Box City.  We will sleep overnight in a box and experience for just one night what it might be like to be homeless.  All money raised will benefit the Salvation Army and Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN).

Parents, students and potential volunteers please join us for an informational meeting on Monday, September 27th at 6:30 pm in the St. Clare Room.  We will have a representative from IHN so that we may learn more about this organization.  We'll discuss the details of the events and talk about collecting "rent" money.

This is a great event that gives youth and adults an experience of homelessness that is not soon forgotten.  Please consider joining us!
