Cardboard Box City was another success in 2009. Over MEA weekend a group of youth and adults from our parish spent one night in the box to raise money and awareness for the homeless in Rochester. There were a few sprinkles but that did not dampen any spirits.Interfaith Hospitality Network, the Dorothy Day House and the Salvation Army all benefitted from money raised for this event. Our group contributed $350 for these organizations!
Overall, this event raised $17,000. Money goes directly to Dorothy Day Hospitality House, Salvation Army and Interfaith Hospitality Network.
